Chignik Bay
Chignik Bay is a small community located on the North Pacific side of the Alaska Peninsula. It is only accessible by boat or plane, with a typically short gravel runway. It is nestled along the bay, surrounded by mountains, with some beautiful waterfalls as a backdrop. Chignik Bay was one of the communities getting high speed fiberoptic internet service and our company was contracted to monitor the excavation of the trench being dug to lay the cable. I went out there for a couple of days with my son Aiden to help with the start of the project. We were lucky enough to have a couple beautiful days where we walked around the town and my son got to try trout fishing for the first time, and caught his dinner!
